Designing Your Dream Kitchen
The kitchen is undoubtedly the most popular and widely used room in the house, and the various functions the kitchen of today is asked to perform, requires accurate planning and good design.
A good starting point is to look at the various ways in which your kitchen is used, how often and by whom. This will then provide you with a list of basic requirements your kitchen needs to meet.
Whilst any of our Approved Kitchen Studios will be happy to offer advice on all areas of kitchen design, please find below some ideas for inspiration!
Ideal for both modern and traditional designs, curved units are becoming more popular and provide functional storage whilst at the same time creating a smooth finish to a run of units or an island feature. Curved corner base and wall units are also a designer alternative to a standard L shape corner unit. Curved units are availalbe in a number of ranges in the Omega collection - please consult your retailer for more information.
When selecting a traditional kitchen style, try adding feature accessories, such as chunky pilasters shown below. This style of pilaster is available in Davenport, Warwick, Shaker Wood Painted, Richmond Ivory & Painted, Shaker Naturalwood, Dales Oak and Heritage.
LIFT UP WALL UNITS & BI-FOLD UNITS
As an alternative to a standard wall unit, consider using lift up wall units or bi-fold units within your modern design. The lift up wall unit opens from the bottom rather than the side and enables a row of wall units to remain open at the same time - ideal when cooking. Lift up wall units are available in 500mm and 600mm widths. Bi-fold units offer the same advantage and are available in 600, 800, 900 and 1000mm widths. Please consult with your retailer for range availability.
