EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Francis Galvin, Group Chief Executive

Francis has vast experience in the kitchen industry having worked in it since 1973. He has specialised in sales and marketing and over the last three decades has held senior positions with three of the largest and most successful kitchen manufacturers, Gower, Moores and The Spring Ram Group where he progressed to become a main Board Director. He left to become a founder director of Omega in 1992.

Newton Winfield, Group Operations Director

Newton started in the kitchen industry in 1976 when he joined Gower furniture. His initial expertise was in material sourcing but he has since gained exceptional experience in factory planning, distribution, and sales and general administration. For most of the 1980s he was in charge of operations at Spring Ram’s ceramic plant. He then took on the role of Managing Director of Ram Bathrooms, at that time market leader in Europe in the manufacture of acrylic baths. He left in 1992 to become a founder director of Omega.

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Robert Murray CBE, Non-Executive Chairman

Bob Murray was a founding director of Omega together with the initial team in 1992 and has been Chairman since inception.  He is also Chairman of the Sterling Capitol Group of companies.  A qualified accountant, Bob has worked in the kitchen industry for over 35 years.  He was awarded the CBE in 2002. Bob chairs the Audit Committee and Nomination Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee.

Prudence Margaret Leith OBE, Non-Executive Director

Prue was appointed on 1 March 2004. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Orient Express Hotels, with previous non-executive appointments including Woolworths Group plc, Whitbread plc, Halifax plc, Safeway plc and British Railways. She is Chairman of Ashridge Managerial College. Prue started Leiths Good Food, a commercial catering company in 1965, Leiths Restaurant in 1969 and Leiths School of Food and Wine in 1975. Prue chairs the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and Nomination Committee.

Kevin McDonald OBE, Non-Executive Director

Kevin was appointed on 1 March 2004. He began in the plumbing industry at the age of 23 where he has since spent his entire working career. He recognised the potential for the use of plastics in the sector and formed Bartol Plastics Ltd in 1964 to exploit this. He became the Managing Director of Hepworth Iron Company’s Plastics Division after Hepworth acquired Bartol and then left in 1972 to form MacDee Plastics Ltd to manufacture acrylic baths and cisterns. He co-founded Polypipe plc in 1980, which made its debut on the Stock Exchange in 1985 valued at £11 million. It was acquired by IMI plc in 1999 for £337 million. In 1990, Kevin was named Yorkshire Businessman of the Year and he was awarded an OBE in 1996. Kevin is a member of the Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee.

Peter Walker ACA, Non-Executive Director

Peter was appointed on 28 June 2007.  Peter, 35, is Chief Executive of Sunderland PLC prior to which he was Finance Director with responsibility for the accounting function, treasury and investor relations.  He had previously qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to joing Arriva PLC.  Peter is a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee.
